What is a Certified Surgical First Assistant? A highly skilled, credentialed surgical health professional who works under the direction of licensed surgeons performing surgical procedures. The Surgical Assistant is a critical member of the surgical team in the majority of surgical procedures performed.
Could my surgery have been done without a Surgical Assistant? No. The surgeon and surgical assistant are the team members performing surgery on the patient.
Who is Elevate Medical Solutions? Elevate Medical Solutions is a billing company that does surgical billing for my business (Accord Surgical Assisting, LLC.)
Why is my bill so high? You're probably wondering if this money is coming out of your pocket. The answer is "No". My goal is to hold the insurance companies accountable for payment and I don't expect you, the patient, to pay a high fee. If you receive a bill from Elevate Medical Solutions that is over $500, this usually means that we need your assistance in filing an appeal (talking to your insurance company), removing discounts, or process "in-network". (We are currently in the process of making my bills more easily understood.)

Why am I getting a bill months after my surgery? Billing for a surgical assistant can take additional time. Usually a patient will receive a bill or statement from Elevate Medical Solutions when we need your help processing your claim.
Didn't I already pay this? There are fees for the facility (hospital or same day surgery facility), the anesthesiologist, the surgeon, and my bill (as Certified Surgical First Assistant) for assisting the surgeon. You can expect to receive bills/EOBs (Explanation of Benefits) from all of them. People sometimes think they have paid me ahead of time (when they pay the facility bill), but I am never paid up front for my services.
